Peggy_G:Funny that you say textmessaging is complex. :-) Kids seem so comfortable with it.
Peggy_G:I definitely agree with you about teachers/adults using text messaging. I've read some really "interesting" text messages from adult friends that seem to be all on the wrong keys. :-)
Peggy_G:Twitter is a good way to learn to write messages in 140 characters.

Liz just spent 30 minutes on Skype with University of Connecticut graduate students from the Department of Modern & Classical Languages discussing with them some of the ways cell phones could be used as powerful educational tools. I just wanted to thank Liz on behalf of all of us for an interesting and enlightening session. I gained a new appreciation for some of the possibilities for using cells as learning tools. I'm glad we had the chance to hear your reasoning behind their use in the curriculum as well as real life examples of how they are used in classrooms now.
