TXT60...Easy video conversions for cell phones!

I recently came across a resource called TXT60. This tool allows you to upload and convert any video, or any Youtube/TeacherTube video so that it can immediately be viewed on a cell phone. I tried this with one of my favorite YouTube videos called A Vision of 21st Century Student, if you want to view and/or download the video on your mobile phone, you can do so by doing the following steps:
1) Login to your mobile web browser (YES! you do need mobile Internet).
2) Login to txt60.com
3) Type in the code: 899506

The video should immediately download to your cell phone for viewing!

Classroom Applications
While students do need to have mobile Internet access to utilize this tool, it is an easy way to view educational videos outside of school, particularly for students who do not have Internet at home (or have a very slow connection which often makes it difficult to view videos). Besides viewing educational videos, students could also create their own "mobile videos" using classroom content. They could disseminate these videos to cell phones by getting a code from TXT60. For example students could create public service announcements, short skits, or even weekly newscasts . The students (or teacher) could give out the code to parents/community members/teachers, which allows for a more "private" viewing of the videos.
